Looks like we're of opposite opinions here. Also, to be fair, Under the Red Hood isn't part of the Batman Animated universe, but based on a comic. :)

I didn't mind it in A New Frontier because I thought they were doing it as a onetime thing and it didn't really fit with the rest of the Animated series stuff. But after that, I just like the original voices. With the Red Hood, it feels as if it could have taken place within the already existing animated series universe so the new voice just doesn't do it for me. It's like trading actors between a movie and the sequel. But that's just my opinion.

I honestly felt the same way you did when Justice League: A New Frontier came out. "Use the BTAS and SAS voice actors!" But now, I don't mind them mixing things up a bit and don't feel stuck on using those original actors, much as I adore them. Andrea Romano told me they prefer to mix things up to keep things fresh, rather than rely on the same actors over and over again. While I love hearing Conroy and Daly, of course, I don't mind them bringing new actors to the role if done right. Hell, George Newburn did a fantastic job in the Justice League cartoons, for example, so why not try to find new talent if it works?

The only part that I disagree with you on is the voices. I wish they stayed with the animated series voices. It really did take me out of the movie. Over all, it was a fantastic movie and I hope DC continues to make more Batman animated movies (but please go back to the original voice actors).

Agreed, there was more of a psychotic edge to DiMaggio's Joker that I really enjoyed, maybe even moreso than Hamill's. I also think Greenwood did great, and I LOVED Ackles, but then again that goes without saying, huh? ;)

I really enjoyed the voice actors. Bruce Greenwood did *great* as Batman, and John DiMaggio's understated but psychotic Joker was really well done.
