This Saturday, in Los Angeles, there will be a midnight showing of “Transformers: The Movie”. No, not the Michael Bay pieces of crap, we’re talking the original 1986 animated film that many people in my generation consider a beloved and seminal piece of work…so of course I’m going. ;) (Thanks to my friend Josh for the tip on the screening, BTW, which you can learn more about here if you’re in LA).

Hey there y’all, hope y’all are well. Busy as hell here at work today, so won’t have much time to post anything (plus my brain is wombly from lack of sleep). I therefore thought I’d share something with ya, the soundtrack to one of my favorite PC games, Interstate ’76, courtest of the awesome music streaming service Grooveshark.

If you’re unaware as to the awesomeness of Interstate ’76, read all about it on Wikipedia or MobyGames.

Did you like the classic games “House of the Dead,” or “Typing of the Dead”? How about “Rock Band” or “Guitar Hero”? If so, then there might be just the game for you coming out on the Wii called “Rock of the Dead.” According to the story on 1Up, later this year, “Rock of the Dead” will be released for the Wii, featuring voice actors by Felicia Day and Neil Patric Harris. The game lets you use your Guitar Hero guitar controller to play riffs in order to shoot down zombies. It looks really pretty cool, and since I was a huge “Typing of the Dead” fan, I would love to try this out. This kind of thing might actually make me get a Wii. ;)

Okay, I’m something of a soundtrack nut, sue me. However, I’m not just mentioning this one because it’s an ordinary soundtrack, oh no. This soundtrack was composed by none other than Greg Edmonson, the fantastic composer behind the music for Firefly.

Anyway, according to the Playstation Blog, the soundtrack to “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” — again, composed by Greg Edmonson — is available today on iTunes and Amazon. Even though I’ve yet to play this game, I’m likely gonna get this soundtrack.

Over on Bear McCreary’s blog — you know, the guy who composed the amazing music to Battlestar Galactica — he’s announced that the soundtracks to Dark Void and Dark Void Zero have been released today. You can get the Dark Void soundtrack over on Amazon, and the Dark Void Zero soundtrack on iTunes for $13.99 and $1.99, respectfully.
